What are vape coils and what are the different types of coil?

Vape coils are a vital component of a vaping device, as they are responsible for heating the e-liquid and creating vapour. The coil is a small piece of wire that is wrapped around a wicking material, which soaks up the e-liquid.

The coil is connected to the power source of the device, typically a battery, and when power is applied, it heats up the wire which in turn heats up the wick, vaporizing the e-liquid.

What are the different types of vape coils?

• PnP (plug-n-play or push-and-pull) coils – These are pre-made coils that come in a small package and can be easily installed in the vaping device. They are designed to be used with specific devices and come in a variety of resistance levels.
• DIY (do-it-yourself) coils – These are coils that are built by the user using wire and wick. They are installed on a build deck, which is a small platform that is built into the atomiser. Building your own coils allows for more customisation and control over the vaping experience, but also requires more knowledge, skills, and tools.
• Mesh coils – These are coils that use a mesh wire instead of a traditional round wire. • Multi-strand coils – These are coils that are made from multiple thin wires twisted together to make a single coil. They offer a good balance of flavor and vapor production, and have a larger surface area than traditional round wire coils.
• Clapton coils – These are coils that have one or more thin wires wrapped around a thicker wire, making a pattern that looks like a Clapton guitar string. They offer a more intense flavor and vapor production than traditional round wire coils.
• Alien coils – These are coils that are made of a combination of thin and thick wires wrapped around each other. They have a large surface area and can provide a more intense flavor and vapor production than other coils.
