How Long Does A Bottle of E-Liquid Last? Comparing E-Liquid Bottle Sizes
How long does e-liquid last? It’s hard to say exactly how long a bottle of e-liquid should last, for several reasons. It will depend on the size of the e-liquid bottle, how frequently you vape and what kind of device you use.
In this short explainer, we’ll explore how many puffs you can expect to get from 10ml, 50ml, and 100ml e-liquids, and why shortfills might not last as long as you think.
How long does a 10ml e-liquid last for?
The most common e-liquid that people use are 10ml e-liquids and nic salts, as 10ml is the maximum legal size in the UK that liquids containing nicotine can be sold in. The maximum vape tank capacity allowed in the UK is 2ml, which means one 10ml bottle can refill a tank 5 times.
On average, a full tank with 2ml of e-liquid will provide 600 puffs, assuming each puff lasts one second. For example, most disposable vapes contain 2ml of juice inside and typically offer up to 600 puffs. If you take longer puffs than one second, you will use more e-liquid and it will last for less time, though you will absorb more nicotine per hit.
This means that one 10ml bottle of e-liquid should last for roughly 3000 puffs and for 5 refills.
How long do 50ml e-liquids last?
As 10ml e-liquids typically last for 3000 puffs, you would expect a 50ml e-liquid to last five times longer to provide 15,000 puffs. If you add a nic shot into the bottle, this will increase the amount of total liquid and will slightly increase the time it lasts.
However, shortfill e-liquids are usually used with high-wattage devices and sub-ohm coils. They typically contain much less nicotine than 10ml e-liquids, which means you can take longer draws on the device, using more e-liquid per puff than higher nicotine liquids. Therefore it is unlikely you will actually get 15,000 puffs from a 50ml e-liquid.
Therefore, you should expect anywhere between 10,000 – 15,000 depending on your vaping style, device and nicotine level.
How long do 100ml e-liquids last?
Again, as a 10ml e-liquid typically last for 3000 puffs, you would expect 100ml e-liquids to last for ten times that amount, providing 30,000 puffs.
However, as we mentioned earlier, shortfill e-liquids of any size typically require a device with more power and lower resistance coils, which uses more juice per draw.
Realistically, you can expect a 100ml of e-liquid to provide between 20,000 and 30,000 puffs, again depending on your vaping style, device and nicotine level.
